A Holistic Approach in a Complex Building
The building’s square layout presented challenges regarding daylight in the core. The design solution was to place functional areas such as meeting rooms, copy rooms, storage, and tea kitchens centrally, surrounding them with office spaces, private offices, and meeting rooms offering views of the city. The inner core was designed as a cohesive, custom-built feature, with vertical oak slats in varying depths, complemented by niches designed for artwork — providing both a visual rhythm and spaces for breaks and reflection.
The first thing you encounter after entering is a cozy lounge. Here, you’re invited to hang your coat, grab a cup of coffee or tea, and settle in before meetings or conversations. The largest meeting room is adjacent, also used for board meetings for other businesses. The open-plan office faces the view of the fortress and downtown, allowing employees to welcome visitors with both an overview and proximity.
An Office that Builds Relationships
Formue offer advisory services in art, and much of the space has been curated with photography, paintings, and sculptural objects. The art is designed not only to inspire but to create a sense of security and curiosity when interacting with visitors.
For Work and Celebration
The dining area offers views of both Nidaros Cathedral and the town square, designed as a flexible space for everyday lunch and client events in the evening. A custom-designed table at a height of 900 mm, along with comfortable bar stools, makes this area a natural gathering point.
The project is characterized by extensive custom furnishings: from a wardrobe with integrated seating and bookshelves to storage solutions between workstations that also function as green walls. Plants provide natural screening and create a vibrant atmosphere — without compromising openness and visibility.
